It's more about the flavour, less about the ingredients for me. :P

I would disagree.
Both KJ and MJ are influenced by dance music
Both KJ and MJ focus on environmental issues in their lyrics
Both KJ and MJ (sometimes) have grinding guitars (Slash has played with MJ)
Kiss/Rush are moreso of Killing jokes antitheses, moreso then MJ is .
