[kj] Antithesis of Killing Joke

God, if no virtuoso could be musically bankrupt we'd all be raving
about Dream Theater.
By musically bankrupt, I mean specifically that they have nothing
inspirational to impart through their music. I regard Clapton,
Knopfler, vai, Malmsteen &c. as having nothing to offer me. However,
there are virtuosi who do; Fripp, Belew, Gill, Geordie and McGeogh
spring immediately to mind.
In my view, being a consummate musician signifies precisely nothing
other than you practice a lot. It's what you choose to do with your
skills that counts.
Widdly fret-wankery doesn't impress me much, hence the fact that the
only Eddie Van Halen guitar I possess is on a Thomas Dolby album.
