Japan? Kiss? On the same line-up?
Wow. It's going to take me several days to digest this one. But thanks for
the interesting info.
And now, I'm off to do the beetle dance. ; )
Cheers,

I still listen to the first DD album from time to time. Nothing wrong with
the next few either. "The Chauffeur" is a classic track.
But I must also acknowledge an abiding love for Japan. I first saw them
supporting Kiss (calm down Alex - freebie tickets from the record shop I
worked at) when they thought they were Hanoi Rocks (yes, I know, but you see
what I mean), and thought they were fantastic. Then Sylvian re-taught
himself to sing (and I'm sure he never heard a single Roxy Music album,
ever), and they turned into something even more marvellous. Favourite track?
Punter mix of "European Son". But "...Rhodesia", "Suburban Berlin", "Sons Of
Pioneers", the Nye "Taking Islands In Africa"...
Even better, it was Barbieri's involvement that caused me to investigate the
sublime Porcupine Tree, a band who have given me more regular pleasure in
the last few years than any other. Not like that.
Karn's beetle dace still freaks me out, though.

They were a good pop band that I enjoyed for a spell.....their first
album....but then I heard the band that had more talent in its little finger
than all of them combined: Japan. Japan really had substance as well as
style. I also still am mocked for my unwavering love of Mick Karn, so I am
very biased.

Duran Duran is a great pop band. I own several of their albums. Not ashamed
of it.

So he was. How did you know this, Alex?
Someone dreamt of doing the Moonwalk, Alex is a NKOTB Fan.
Anyone want to confess to buying a Duran Duran album ?

I'm sure it was their stylist's idea. One of the New Kids on the Block also
wears one in the video for "The Right Stuff."

I agree.
Among the gazillion of bands that are antithetical to KJ, I'd also add
Chicago and their abuse of Bauhaus t-shirts:
