It is a lot more than that

I think the problem is that it is very easy to do that sort of stuff
with it (in much the same way as it is quite easy to hammer out power
chords on a guitar)

Get beneath the hood and have a poke around and you can do some amazing
stuff with it

Back when I used Reason, it worked fine on PC. Truthfully, I found it
limiting and got bored with it quickly. It seems to be another piece of
software for people to do very generic carbon copy techno.

Yes, although Reason on OS X works better than Reason on the same
hardware under XP via BootCamp, in my experience.

(Last PC version was 5, in 2002).

Fair point, ever since Macs went dual platform ;)
Logic is Mac only? Although it was a few years ago now, I was running it
on my PC..
Waves have some nice plug-ins, I concur :)

Trueish, although less so than a couple of years back. You can use
Reason, Cubase, Live, and in my view all the decent plugins (Waves, NI,
ImpOSCar, etc. etc.) on both platforms these days. Logic's the Mac-only
(and is fantastic - I was dumbstruck when I saw what you get for the
money with Logic Studio), versus Sonar being PC-only.

What have I missed?
