I live in L.A. so, probably, unless i spend the end-of-year in Las Vegas at my brother's place.
A curious note, if you take Route 66 all the way til it ends here, you end up right in West Hollywood and about 1/4mile from the Sunset Strip. "Get your kicks....." ~~ DM

hi saul 
yes i'm planning to spend 4 months stateside 
been reading up and realizing i won't even scratch the surface [ oh well at least i'll have seen a bit of the u s ] 
planning to travel route 66 from chicago to L A with a few detours along the way 
just looking at chicago looks like i need to spend a week there  to really see what the city has to offer 
this itinery is gonna be a real balancing act 
thanks for interest shown ,are you anywhere near my travels ?

   Are you on tour?? Is L A for Los Angeles or Louisiana? (cuz it seems L.A. would be waaaayy out of the way of those other cities...) And try and schedule your cities with wardrobe and weather in mind, like, the South is furiously hot in summer and the northern areas (Chi-Philly-Springfield) get cold and/or snowy in winter.
   L.A. on the other is pleasant all year-round, and quite possibly on fire by the time you get here.
