I got trashed when I went to one.
I took one of my dogs. He's large, 100lbs and was youngster, quite
inexperienced at the time.
We had this bright idea to hide our beer stash deep into the forest and hang
little bags of food, (boiled eggs, sarnies and stuff) from nearby trees to
indicate the way and location when we returned in the dark. Miraculously it
worked and we found our way back - probably due to our finely tuned beer
radars rather than to the markers we'd left; although I recall my hear
friend cracking her head on what sounded suspiciously like eggshell as we
were staggering around.
When we bedded down, I tied my dog around my waist so that he couldn't
wander off during the night. Before I knew it, it was half-light, Dawn and I
had this wild sense of rushing through the forest bed. I realised that I
was actually awake and was, for what seemed like many painful miles (but was
probably only a few hundred yards) being painfully dragged, at speed,
through the undergrowth by a drooling beast who was furiously hunting
something; fuck knows what. Whatever it was though, had ravaged the food
bags which were reduced to shredded bits of fluttering polythene - no
edibles in sight. I like to think that it was a little hairy wildman or a
monkey:-))) That would certainly explain the bananas.
Good fun. It would've been excellent if a decent band've played.
