I don't wish them harm or hurt, just oblivion-on-earth.
How they've affected me/others? Preaching a lot of hate and divisiveness, and inspiring people to act on those feelings. If not in my personal glass of water, they're still pissing into the communal well and that's reason enough to take action.
> playing dirty is a wimpy way out..
What if a cop refuses to leave force after it's shown he should no longer be policing? or a doctor who's shown they shouldn't be doctoring?
Here's one i've been party to:
a job where an asshole boss (who was allowed to still run loose by upper mgmt.) costs several employees their bonuses, promotions, pay raises, fires or causes others to get fired on a whim, and further grates on others to the point where they leave or just sit there and bear it, like good boys and girls? I, with a few others' help, made a deal to trump stuff up and had him fired. Was it dirty? Yep. The alternative, given a workplace system that didn't care to fix things? Even more morally irresponsible.
"get him out get him out get-him-out!"
"And I'd do it again!!"
pseudo-sex??
I've just seen too many good people suffer cuz of others' intransigence.

Glad you feel better.
#1, How have they willfully forfeited their moral ground?
What is that based on? Who decides? How did either of those 2
affect you? How much have you listened/watched to either?
If you turn the radio off or change the channel do they still hound you?
If I dislike someone, I turn them off or change the channel. I'll say to myself "geee what a fuckwit"
and move on. I don't recall wishing death/harm/accident on any pundit no matter how much I disliked
them. I leave that up to the DKos and HuffPo kiddies.
Just Curious...
I still believe that playing dirty is a wimpy way out. To reverse the quote a bit
"Bringing a gun to a knife fight". Feh!
Feel free to join KW (if she's up for it) & myself at the massage parlor.
I've never been to one yet, it should prove interesting.
Think of it as a pseudo-sexual catharsis. :)

..or that yer willing to go play dirty on someone who's
1) wilfully forfeited their moral ground, and
2) isn't worth a fair shot anymore.
When someone's thrown away their right to play but they insist in staying
the sandbox, ya push him out hard til they hit the wall. Those two
are a sociopathic waste of space, and however their tracks can be reset
towards oblivion, I'm all for it; "Game Over," throw 'em out now.
Wow, cathartic.

Not defending anyone. Notice I referred to Rush when using the term "Moral Compass" .
The point I was trying to make is when you disagree with someone why not defeat the person
based on debate/opinion and actions. Not on the concept of "ohhh I hope he/she fucks up".
If you (not YOU per se) need that type of occurrence to happen in order to point out flaws
it is a sign that you simply can't beat them and that you can't prove them wrong.

I agree with you about the massage parlors issue -- but don't waste your energy defending either of those blowhards. Neither are deserving of it.
And given that O'Reilly has written a book called "Cultural Warrior," he *is* a hypocrite. I couldn't care less about him (or the Fat One, either -- who would be taken even less seriously if he had the cajones to be a moral compass, which is he is *not*) -- but had to point that out.

Personally I support the concept of those "Massage Parlors" as well as the legalizing of
prostitution. If a man/woman wants to have sex and someone is willing to pay, what the hell is the problem?
It's all based on the "religious morality" there is in essence nothing wrong with it.
And why would you hope they get caught by such a thing? In order to say "ohhhhhh you hypocrite" because
you don't agree with them? (nor do I recall Rush claiming to be a moral compass. Conservatism has many factions)
What if they never get caught? That's just silly talk.
Ever hear an smoker hacking his lungs out preach to a youngin about not smoking?
He might even do it while have a smoke, but it doesn't mean he is wrong.

I hope Billy O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh both get "Punk'd" at some local
"massage parlor" - but instead of Ashton Kutcher jumping out of the sauna
saying "Punk'd" it should be New York Atty.General Andy Cuomo with arrest warrants and subpoenas.

Okay The View is lame (today they were harping on about how great Michael Jackson is) – but vs Bill O’Reillly….they€¦.they don’t invite ‘guestsââsts’ on, shout at them, over them, turn their mic off, throw theem off, misrepresent what they said…

right off the top of me head, theres,
- Keith Olbermann, as of when he finally flipped his lid (after apparently straining and bruising the left half of his
brain?), and
- The Four Clowns on The View (Whoopi, Joy, Sheri "I do Believe the Earth is flat"[wtf?], and Barbara Walters)
who, appropriately enough, always sit to the left of the table.
- Rosie O'Donnell (oh god..where does one start?)
- Reverend Al Sharpton, (racist, divisive social parasite leeching his own)
- Eleanor Clift (a sycophant par excellence)

Haha…itâ€â‚¬â„¢s ccertainly trying times for capitalism.
Side note: Does the US left have any figures as repugnant as Bill O̢۪Reillilly, Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh? They̢۪re practically iy intolerable, and why anyone still listens to them in the current climate is beyond me.

People are always willing to parrot plattitudes they've learned from anti-communist teachers, parents, etc., w/o really thinking about them. But in the US there is a nightly segment on nbc news about how, in the tough economy, there is an outpouring of people helping each other, doing things for free, giving more to the less fortunate, etc., w/o looking for any praise or payback. And don't forget that we've never lived in a time when poeple in power are prevented form being corrupt, so how can we know if everyone in power will automatically be corrupt?

I find it interesting when some people term humanity as some form of parasite. Do these people include themselves in the analogy, or not? If yes, do they use the idea as some form of condonation for not giving a sh*t?
There is a trend, particularly in industrial music, to adopt this idea....hell of a way to perpetuate the inert, or do they feel that they are in touch with the zeitgeist?

mankind has and continues to rule to the detriment of others . Any leader showing compassion is usually assassinated.Power corrupts and usually those at the top are moulded and coersed by the host of sychophants and other manipulators who have thier own agenda . No doubt i will be scoffed and jeered at when i say that mankind is incapable of looking after himself and the world will only change for the better when jesus comes to right the wrongs ...remember how they laughed at the people attempting to make flight possible ...i rest my case

Like a coup or an asassination? I wish i had your faith, but 99% of the time, those that rise to the top make damn sure they can stay there. You can never stop those that wish to suceed at the expense of others, "feather the nest and fuck the rest" etc. The concept of a council like the Roman senate was supposed to keep things fair and right but ultimately backhanders, coersion and corruption take over, all to satisfy the greedy few, and those Wolves ALWAYS come dressed in Sheeps clothing.
Nah, i think i'l just stick to treating people like i want to be treated myself and hope it eventually rubs off on everyone.
Keep dreaming Jel.

That's the key--how to keep people from being top of the pile and ripping others off. The decision-making has to be collectivized and people have to be accountable (the opposite of the US bankers) and there has to a way to recall leaders when they do try to climb above others...

(w/communist distribution of goods and services according to need).
And WHO decides who needs what? There's always someone at the top of the pile. Great in theory, sadly lacking in practice.

Funny, the Progressive Labor Party advocates a future revolutionary society in which we operate without money! (w/communist distribution of goods and services according to need). Maybe Jaz will join!

Presumably Jaz's talk will centre on his upcoming book:
From Jaz's entry on the wikipedia site (I don't think it's been mentioned here yet, but apols etc).
Coleman is writing a book about permaculture, free energy, freedom and freedom-loving individuals. The main thesis is on how to survive without money. The book will be divided into two parts; one part concentrating on the music and other on the ideas behind it.[10]The book is planned to be published in 2009. [11]
