It IS actually a pretty good line up the Damned have at the moment, but
it's still hard to get away from the Vanian/Sensible +3 type feeling.
Actually, 2/5 of the band are ex-English Dogs... never thought I'd see that
happen! But like Alex says, Scabies won't be there, and he's part of
the unholy trinity that needs to be there for it to REALLY be the
Damned. But I would recommend people take a chance on 'em these days.

Was it maybe the Phantom Chords you saw Folk Devil? They've never done a
gig with only Vanian as an original member. The Phantom Chords were great!
The (still annoyingly unreleased) Polydor album is f-f-f-f-fantastic!

They're touring with Motorhead in Nov or Dec... now THAT will be a gig to
see! Fuck, I just remembered, I did once see a double-bill of Motorhead
and the Damned, ha ha, must be getting old...

And quite long after the fact, thoroughly enjoyed the Joke at Heaven last
week... always a joy to behold (well, apart from the Brighter Than... tour
;) )
