by sheer coincidence I'm front row of the balcony for Motorhead in exactly the same seats as for the Specials..now I know you'll frown and say how can you sit down for gigs but my lad is now coming to the bigger gigs with me and either they have to sit or we choose to sit cos he won't see anything

  Excellent one - looking forward that myself although my lad is not showing too much interest in music yet.  I went to the Specials show last night and it was brilliant.  The start with the white curtain and their silhouettes was pure class.  It was seething and a great atmosphere, so many people stomping.  Managed to get right to the front and very bruised today.  Wonderful -love em.  The screens were great as well - both nights have been filmed for release.

  He went to his first gig with me last night - the Specials in Wolvo, a very proud night for me as we sat together, him in his trilby and Ben Sherman and skinny tie. They were excellent, really on form and the dancefloor downstairs was a seething mass of Fred Perrys and bald heads (that was just the women)

    Yes, suits those of us in SW London pretty well...

    Hammy Palais was a great venue - many happy memories.

    My first ever gig was there: the Damned, supported by the Lords of the New Church.  I remember how it felt like the world's usual proportions had been reversed as the tube filled with punks, with only a handful of normal people.

    On a purely selfish level, even better news playing Hammersmith (albeit the Odean) after many years ... used to love those Palais gigs ... and I should be home in half an hour ... :o)

    Yes, there will be warm up shows (as described earlier) in April 2010 and a major show in London after those. Following that, a month of shows in the States.

    The original lineup is intact. Enthusiasm and collective contributions for the new material is high.
