The wasps were one of the 'younger' bands of the time. Average age of 16 or something, like eater or the pratts.
Here's some linkage

Teenage treats was 'ok', most of the other stuff a bit sad sack, like can't wait, til 78...yawn, and a pretty suicidal lyric if you ask me..

I remember meeting Andy Blade,of Eater, on a train coming back from a 'rave' in the early nineties...i wanted the guy to shut up, he spoiled my memories of them...a band 'of the time' not ground breaking..

So, my girlfriend works at a reasonably upscale restaurant in Minneapolis with a primarily jewish and gay clientele, except for one regular who claims to be a former member of The Wasps, who were a first-wave British punk band that formed c. 1977 from teenagers who had been hanging around the Roxy. I actually own the "Live at the Vortex" vinyl where they appear with Neo, the Drones et. al.
My GF says he makes a big deal of his time in "The Industry", and is a name-dropper extraordinaire, but even a cursory search reveals that they only ever recorded two singles and made two compilation appearances before imploding like 99.9% of the rest of the bands who formed after seeing the Buzzcocks once.
Knowing my affinity for punky things, she wants me to show up some night and quiz him to see if he's full of sh*t, or if she should have him sign my album. Not sure how he ended up here, but I'm not surprised, especially after I ran into the former drummer of The Motels in the polka band at my favorite neighborhood dive bar.
It could be fun to tweak this guy a little. Any ideas what I can do to trip him up?
