I am beginning to think the Monolith from
2001: A Space Odyssey was a Burman tube
amp draped in proper priestly garb, http://www.garnersclassics.com/pics/2001/monolith.jpg , godly and revered thing that it is.
(a precursor to Stonehenge, maybe?)
