I'm loving this thread, listening to the Isis So Did We from Janean's picks,
brilliant. I'm generally a decade or so behind the times, the main sucky
thing about that is missing live acts when they're peaking or current.
Hardly ever buying CDs anymore has its drawbacks.

My deal is that I feel folks are missing out on many great bands of the
last decade - Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Busy Signals, Red Dons, Jay
Reatard, The Observers, the MDC and Poison Idea Lps that came out last
decade - to me these vlow away stuff by MCR or LCD Soundsystem.
Fugazi's last LP from 2001, and nothing from Jay Reatard (RIP!), or
Poison Idea or MDC's 2000s LPs - versus The Shins.... :/ I dunno. We
agree on Killing Joke. but I remember when I mentioned KJ' "Hosanna'" in
2006 as one of the best LPs of that year, a member of MIKA MIKO (another
great act from the past decade) emailed me and said something to the
effect of, "Uhm, isn't that some old band who are from the 80s???"
