Yes, in Boston (well, Cambridge) T.T. the Bear's, a hugely established small rock club, named after a hamster (a piece of trivia many locals might not know). Also, the best rock club overall is the Middle East, owned by a family from, yes, the Middle East.

   Here in Los Angeles we also have Forums, and "Athletic Clubs", all sorts of "Bowls", "Derbys", "Mocambos", "Coconut Groves", "Legion Halls", "Strips", "Houses"(Icehouses, Glass Houses, -Of Blues,etc.), "-Plexes," "Narrows", "Factorys", "Bunkers", Societys" etc. and that's that we're a relatively newly (postWW2) developed city. Hell, we even had and actual "Anti-"Club, of all things.  
 
Anyone got any other slightly odd venue names in their towns..

One thing I never understood about the UK--why do all the clubs/concert halls or whatever have such strange names? Forums, Academies, and what the hell is Shephard's Bush? Why not sheep-herder's vagina?
