Socrates had a good point: Why is a decision better if it's a consensus
decision? Isn't a good decision good based on reason?



Then again they killed him for living that way so didn't do him much good.
Except for the part where he was immortalised as the greatest thinker in the
history of the planet and all that, but "why dwell on the past"? ;)

I think it has always been Totalitarian / Authoritarian. There was still a
ruling elite, even if they did wear snazzy little jackets and man purses..

In the purest sense? No. But certainly, they carried out more of the
practices that define a communist gov't -- until some free-market ideals
were introduced in the early 80s.

Doesn't matter, now -- the regime there is still miserable.
