[kj] OT: Summer 2011

Blackheath Standard, Blackheath village and Greenwich are now locking down. Greenwich particularly has made an mdf board merchant rich overnight.
Saw a bunch of stoned teenagers from some local estate having a laugh, looking dodgy and smelling of the weed. That my friends, is surely the face of the fall of Sounth-West London civilization. Found the odd broken window too.
I sorely doubt anyone is going to get hurt unless they are in a uniform or in a business. Well I hope so?
Is it really that easy to set a building and a car on fire? What instructional leaflets? People are surely going around specifically engineering these things to incite the saddo-hordes?

Thanks to everyone for their kind, thoughtful words. Yeah, this is entirely surreal, but I have faith that we'll get through it (although we're now discovering some things about my father that we never knew --- don't ever let this happen to your children, it's simply awful.) I just want to get back to normal. Ugh.On other fronts, am I wrong, or does every other photograph currently coming out of London look like a Mike Coles outtake?Be safe over there.Alex in NYC
