[kj] OT -- 9%... 10%...

>From a distant point of view, albeit... I believe we are only seeing the
beginning of more revolt. Yes, right at the moment Egyptian military is in
effect running Egypt, but only on a temporary status... hopefully... But, I
think generally in the Arab community they are utterly fed up with
dictatorship and these jerks comp trolling every aspect of their daily
lives. Iran in particular, they are trying to nip it in the bud before the
flames can be fanned...
I read just the other day that a man set himself on fire in Tunisia in order
to be heard... Man, my hat is off to him, may God rest his soul. But, he set
things in motion, which has led up to the Egyptian revolt. What an amazing
feat! I would love to see the Iranian people muster up the balls to fight
for what they are entitled to, rather than letting a bunch of egocentric,
arrogant bastards continue with their BS.
Again I think we've only seen the beginning, and the flames are about to
burst and be fanned! And it obviously isn't going to be isolated in some
countries, but probably in a large portion of the regional middle east.
That’s a big reason why my Great Grandfather immigrated from Italy to the US
(1910), because he despised dictators and fascists!! Don't follow, lead...
That's what my Grandfather always told us kids.

But the egyptian?people looked anything but distracted. They looked very
focused, and aware.? Almost as if you?could've pulled any one of them from
out
the crowd?and they could have?stated clearly their?specific reason why
they're
there/what they wanted.

Agree ? that goes back to ancient Rome, gladiatorial? games sometimes
lasting up
to weeks, to keep the plebs distracted with violent nonsense.
?
Same effect is achieved today with sports, television, tech gadgets, video
games, celebrities and their antics, fashion and other trends, pop music etc
(btw I indulge in almost all of the former, except fashion - I?m pretty much
morbidly unfashionable - the question is how distracted you allow yourself
to
become?.)

Now everyone is looking only at Egypt, where the 'people' have won, and now
have
the Military in control. :/
What also seems to be happening is a systematic destabilization of the Arab
Nations; Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon etc etc..Could this isolate Iran? (more)
Are there any 'real' factions leading these 'revolutions'? Bread and
Circuses
come to mind.
One of America's biggest businesses is the Military, who sell to Egypt.
Rumsfeld shook hands with Hussein. Obama shook hands with Mubarak. Cowboys
and
Indians. Machiavellian devices?
What are others on The 'G'? thinking?

I like the progression of Moe Barak's positions throughout this whole thing:
?
?- Go home(or else!)!? Go home now! (at beginning)
?- OK, I'll leave!, just give me 8 months! (til the Sept. elections)
?- I hereby proclaim to abdicate, ambiguously, forthwith!
?????????????????????????? ~~ signed, (still)thePresident of Egypt (couple
of
days ago)
?- Ok, I'm gonna go out of town for the weekend with the wife to go, um,
"charm
the sheik" at Sharm-
?? el-Sheik, just forget about me for now; I'll be back in?a few....
?-? Alright, if? I leave (big IF), I'll leave my Chief of Intelligence,
Torture
& Suppression in charge. You'll be safe
?? with him? (I was).? Be grateful.?
?- Alright, alright, I'm leaving. Peace out!
?
Pharaoh, hear thy People: go.

"how do we know we aren't already immortal"
That isn't an argument - the onus is on the one making extraordinary
claims to supply extraordinary evidence. Which as far as evidence for an
immortal soul, adds up to zero. (But centuries of oppression from
religious loon-jobs supposedly acting on instructions from higher powers -
who happen to be permanently invisible and insane)
Religious miracles / visitations / out of body experiences / magic /
prophecy / UFOs - have you ever noticed how the strongest 'evidence'
behind most of that stuff is anecdotal reports from unreliable witnesses?
Fuzzy single shot pictures? Coincidence that 'aliens' tend to be humanoid
in shape? We've got millions to billions of people now wandering around
with camera phones...orders or magnitude more than the 50s / 60s / 70s /
80s - has the incidence of UFO / supernatural footage gone up to the same
extent?
"whats wrong with living and dying?"
Dying.
