Best film(s) you saw last year (not necessarily released last year): "Black
Swan," "Never Let Me Go" and "Waltz with Bashir." 

Best TV show(s)/series you watched last year:  I concur with Mr. Smith: "Mad
Men," which truly lives up to the hype. That's followed by "Breaking Bad,"
"Terriers" and "The Walking Dead."

Best album(s) & single(s):   Killing Joke's latest rules the day for albums.
The single I most liked - because it was just too giddy -- was "My Time" by
Minus the Bear.

Best book(s) you've read: Read a lot of older books this year, browsed
through some newer ones.  

Best gig(s):The Buzzcocks (San Diego) the Pixies (Las Vegas) and  . (drum
roll, please): Killing Joke in Los Angeles (last, but never least)

Best stand-up (gigs or TV, DVD etc): Nothing current.

Worst film(s): Oh, man . where do I begin?  "Alice in Wonderland" and
"A-Team." 

Worst TV show(s)/series:  "Pretty Wild," which defies description in how
horrendous it is.

Worst album(s) & single(s): Given I tend to avoid bad albums, I'll say
nearly all of what I hear on Top 40.


Worst book(s): I don't  think I read any worst books. Do a few lame
biographies qualify? 

Worst gig(s): No complaints, whatsoever.  

Worst stand-up: Too many to name, and many of them are on Comedy Central.


Any other highlights/low-points: High points: My trip to the U.K. (and
meeting so many truly splendid people there), seeing Killing Joke and one
life-changing event I will not elaborate on. Low points: Losing my dog,
Samson.

If you had to live your life by a single motto, what would that be? "What
did I do now?"  (Actually, I do have one, but it's too corny.)

 

What's your favourite constellation?  Orion.

Twitter or Facebook? Facebook and Twitter, although the former is far more
useful.

Hero of 2010: My cousin.


Zero of 2010: Nasty, vindictive people - both in public and private life. 

 
Any resolutions for this year:  To donate more time to helping others (yes,
I mean that). 

What were your childhood ambitions? Have you managed to fulfil any or all of
them? I wanted to work at a newspaper, and that's what I've done (insanity
is a requirement, btw).  Time travel has not happened yet. 

If you could make one species of animal extinct, what would it be? Most of
the talk radio blowhards.

good.

Best album(s) & single(s):   ABSOLUTE DISSENT by Killing Joke. "Rush to
Relax" by the Eddie Current Suppression Ring

Best book(s) you've read: "Life" by Keef Richards

Best gig(s): Killing Joke at Irving Plaza, The Specials at Terminal 5, DEVO
at Irving Plaza, Pissed Jeans at Cake Shop

Best stand-up (gigs or TV, DVD etc): No idea.

Worst film(s): I don't get out to films that much anymore, but we foolishly
rented "It's Complicated" (with Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and Meryl Streep)
and it was the worst heap of pungent dung I've ever subjected my senses to.
It made me want to throw out my DVD player.

Worst TV show(s)/series:  "Sarah Palin's Alaska"

Worst album(s) & single(s): That I bought? Hmmm. I wanted the Devo album to
be better, but I wouldn't call it "worst." On the larger scale, there was
more bad music released than year than can be humanly quantified, I wouldn't
know where to begin. 

Worst book(s): I started the new Franzen book and was entirely bored by it.
Gave up twenty pages in.

Worst gig(s): I'm usually so happy to be out at a show, so I'm already
ahead. Can't think of a bad one I attended this year.

Worst stand-up: No idea.

Any other highlights/low-points: High points: Not having to sign on to
unemployment/COBRA. Low points: Finding out my building's being assessed and
that my monthly fees are going up 53% for the entire year.

If you had to live your life by a single motto, what would that be? Eat
Right. Stay Fit. Die Anyway.

What's your favourite constellation?  I don't believe I have one.

Hero of 2010: Big Paul Fucking Ferguson

Zero of 2010: Too many to choose from, but let's start with Sarah Palin. 

Any resolutions for this year: Spend more time actively involved with my
children. Lose beer gut.

What were your childhood ambitions? Have you managed to fulfil any or all of
them? My childhood ambition was to become Gene Simmons, so that's out.

If you could make one species of animal extinct, what would it be? Tea Party
supporters
