Just for the record - not my quote below Nick... I don't believe in
pecking orders ;-)
Without putting words in Paul's mouth, I think he probably meant that as
I've travelled a bit following a few different, I have a reasonable
experience to draw my views from. That doesn't mean they are any more or
less valid than anybody elses...
I used to live in Brum (1986-89), and loved gigs there at the
Powerhouse, Mermaid, Coach & Horses (which my housemates started gigs at
as a jamming session), Hummingbird etc etc - I forget the various venues
in Digbeth. Too many good venues went by the by before we left... I
think that's why Wolves became more of a regular slot on tours, with
it's 3 venues all located conveniently together - and generally well
attended & lively...
Wish I'd stayed out of this now ;-)

What a strange mailing list this is, you have to "earn your right to
have an opinion", is there a holier than thou attitude going on here
about how much of a fucking KJ fan you are?!
Whilst my favourite gigs ever by KJ happened to be in Digbeth,
Birmingham, I have enjoyed all the gigs I have seen them play at in
Wolves except perhaps the last one when Jaz's voice was totally shot
on the Hossannas tour.
KJ have not played in Birmingham since the old Academy in 2005, which
has moved to a different site.
>From many concerts I have been to, by KJ and other artists, I agree
with Jane, and would add personally that any tense gigs by post punk
bands, northern gigs seem livelier.
I don't understand the "strange choice" of destinations though
considering KJ have played particularly on the Pandemonium tour x2 a
lot of the same venues as listed here before, and besides that one
date in Birmingham in 2005, have played Wolves predominantly in the
Midlands since 1994, guess they don't feel it to be a "strange choice"
and possibly actually like playing the Wulfrun Hall?
