Seeing as this has turned into a serious discussion...
My first few KJ gigs were at Hammersmith Palais. Great venue, big crowds... fantastic.
Since then, I'll pick 3:
Manchester International II, 1989: the gig that heralded (after a bit of a wait) the return to form after OTG. Lots of new (and at that point unreleased) material and the flexi of Beautiful Dead to take away. And you've all heard my story about watching the soundcheck, followed by Geordie playing Night Time on his own.
London, Astoria, 1991: Just before the first Gulf War. Extraordinarily tense atmosphere; it felt like Killing Joke's time had come. "This is for everyone who's gonna die in the Gulf."
London, Camden Underworld, 2002(?): After a long absence, an astonishing and brutal gig.

Surely someone who has been to as many gigs as Jane has - I'm not sure but I'm guessing thousands - is in a better position to say which places work best than someone who hasn't. That's all I was saying. Nothing strange about that.
I'm not sure why the focus of this discussion has centred on Wolverhampton. Jon originally mentioned Norwich and Oxford and put Wolverhampton in brackets and then Jamie mentioned Bristol.

What a strange mailing list this is, you have to "earn your right to

about how much of a fucking KJ fan you are?!
