I couldn't believe what I was watching when I saw the tsunami... Well, when
I get my next check, I'm donating some to the Red Cross.

No clue who Willy Mason is, but as an avowed fan of Gavin Friday, I'd
say that's very good company indeed.

Cliff, my wife and I are expecting a baby, soon.
How does that make us a bunch of babies?
I am glad you are still passionate enough to travel 2000 miles to see KJ
play, I am not.
I am also allowed my own principles, in that I would rather not give the HoB
my money.
Cheers.

For those who care, I saw them last night.
Short review: fucking incredible.
Slightly longer review:
Gig was at Oslo Rockefeller, a decent theatre-style venue, guess it holds
around 1200 or so, it sold out months ago.
The place was so full of expectation before the gig, reminded me a lot of
a Killing Joke show. Great atmosphere, there was a crush at the t-shirt
stall, people were buying shirts, holding them up and screaming KYUSS! with
great grins on their faces. Everyone was just psyched up beyond belief.
And then they came on... The sound was super heavy, thick and LOUD as you'd
expect,
but everything clear as a bell (but then I've never been to a bad gig
sound-wise
at Rockefeller - if only KJ could get their sorry arses to Oslo).
The band were spot on, no one seemed to give a shit that it wasn't Josh
Homme on guitar
(new guy did the business) and the only (mild) surprise was John Garcia
looking
much older and chubbier (but then don't we all). The crowd went nuts when
they started playing and kept it up until the last note. I haven't seen a
band
get this reaction for quite a few years - it was just a great wild
celebration.
Set list - well, first four were:
Gardenia (the mother of all opening songs)
Hurricane
One Inch Man
Thumb
Then I can't remember the exact order, but we got:
Freedom Run
Conan Troutman
Asteroid (!)
Demon Cleaner
Supa Scooper and Mighty Scoop
100 Degrees
Allen's Wrench
Fatso Forgetso
Odyssey
El Rodeo
Encore:
Tangy Zizzle
Whitewater
Green Machine
In total they played for almost 2 hours. Thought there would be more from
Blues For The Red Sun seeing as this was the line-up, but I ain't
complaining!
Any former fans who've had their doubts about this, just go see 'em if you
can.
Best gig I've seen in years.

I saw that tidal wave sweep inland in real-time and that was intense to
watch.
Even harder to watch when an actual human action showed through, like when a
car
driving along a highway would stop, flip into reverse a few feet, and then
break
right going over a guardrail or fence and drive furiously across a field in
a
direction away from the oncoming water. Those were the worst moments for me.
And
that family waving white sheets from their blue home's 2nd-story window and
