[kj] "In Cythera (Devacor at aol.com)

Don't get me wrong, I like diversity, just a few tracks didn't really sit
well with me. Hell, Killing Joke is a huge influence with getting me into
DUB! I am a METAL HEAD also, so This World Hell quickly grew on me, though,
I like more of there melodic stuff as well. I have most of their catalogue,
with the exception of OTG, BTATS( I liked it when I was younger, probably a
brief phase..., not now though...). Yes, I do enjoy the metal stuff very
much, also, bring on the DUB! The first 3 albums, are of course, my top
picks, and of course Extremities, including Pandemonium and Democracy.

In Cythera really blew me way, the song and video are classic KJ. Good to
see Colesy is Back!!!

"If 2012 is at all like the last album, there will be plenty of diversity.
On the latter the leaked tunes were In Excelsis or Endgames, I think, which
were both good ones.
But the album featured a lot more--bone crushing metal like the title track,
Great Cull, and This World Hell, the synth pop of ESS and Raven King, punky
tunes like Singularity,
a reggae number, etc. Hopefully the new one will be as diverse. But so far
it seems to be what we think of as the Joke--especially their 1980s
albums--than the somewhat stilted
sounding move toward metal over the past decade. "

In Cythera is EXCELLENT!!! From listening to Cythera and Rapture, it sounds

That's really strange they'd region block that clip. I listed it as private
as well. Clearly there's embedded data in the original
video that YouTube picked up on to block it in certain countries.

I stand corrected...

_http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stinking_badges_
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stinking_badges)

"Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!" is a memorable and widely
quoted
(or misquoted) line from cinematic history.[1] In 2005, it was chosen as
#36
on the American Film Institute list, AFI's 100 Years...100 Movie Quotes.[2]
It is based on a line of dialog from a 1927 novel, first appeared in film
21
years later, and was further popularized in a parody 26 years after that.

Origin

The original version of the line appeared in B. Traven's 1927 novel The
Treasure of the Sierra Madre:
"All right," Curtin shouted back. "If you are the police, where are your
badges? Let's see them."
"Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we
don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges, you
god-damned cabr?n and chinga tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of
yours. I have to speak to you."

In Mel Brooks' 1974 Western parody film Blazing Saddles, the line was
delivered as "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges". This condensed
version has become one of the most popular variations of the quotation.
Many
additional examples exist.[6]

I think the song was immediately likable. I still wasn't able to figure out
how to get the vid- but im sure the song and vid paired together is quite
something.
Though with what I heard so far, im hoping these arent the 'stand out'
tunes--
Im still waiting to hear something from Big Paul back there..
When I first heard Intravenous (well more specifically the ending) I was
like, wow now that is dangerous- what i'd expect to hear when the earth
goes up in flames..never heard anything in a song like that before.
Hoping for something as such, but didn't want whole album to be fire and
brimstone either...

If 2012 is at all like the last album, there will be plenty of diversity. On
the latter the leaked tunes were In Excelsis or Endgames, I think, which
were both good ones.
But the album featured a lot more--bone crushing metal like the title track,
Great Cull, and This World Hell, the synth pop of ESS and Raven King, punky
tunes like Singularity,
a reggae number, etc. Hopefully the new one will be as diverse. But so far
it seems to be what we think of as the Joke--especially their 1980s
albums--than the somewhat stilted
sounding move toward metal over the past decade.

tunes like Singularity,
a reggae number, etc. Hopefully the new one will be as diverse. But so far
it seems to be what we think of as the Joke--especially their 1980s
albums--than the somewhat stilted
sounding move toward metal over the past decade.

In Cythera is EXCELLENT!!! From listening to Cythera and Rapture, it sounds
like there's going to be more continuity and consistency on 2012. I liked
most of AD, but there were some tracks that didn't appeal to me. I am
looking forward to picking up the album and single in the near future!!!

Thanks for the FLV video post, I too was having issues trying to view from
the states.

This is quite, quite good. Hope the studio version on the LP doesn't suck.
Already I am feeling like this may be an LP where, like a lot of KJ's
stuff, the live versions end up being better. "Rapture" underwhelmed me.
