The Doors had drugs, Brechtian drama, art-school wank and a doomed lead singer. Hell, it set the bar. Add Alice Cooper, The Velvet Underground, relapse-era Johnny Cash, and Berlin-period Bowie and Iggy to fill in the gaps.
