Thank you for providing one with something new to torment Morrissey fans with. It is my fondest hope that he is able to read that rant, and immediately drop dead from indignation.

How cruel...and unimaginative!

“It makes The Smiths look and sound like Simon & Garfunkel”

Indeed Jonny Marr was essentially just unlucky that he couldn’t hit the incredibly HEAVY vibe he was obviously striving for by supergluing his guitar on super-fuckin-jangly Top of the Pops mode, recruiting a sexually ambiguous lead singer permanently draped in daffodils who sung about undesired celibacy and sexual haplessness whilst paradoxically exuding such a strong physical attraction that it pulled impressionable young indy music fans across the sexual divide for the duration of his performance, and writing jangly songs like This Charming Man where he let said lead singer pen lyrics that suggest a pretty yet frail young man being picked up by a cruising homosexual predator who persuades him to cancel his wedding, forget his non-functional bicycle – which incidentally is beyond his ability to repair due to his chronic lifelong fairyhood and its inherently crippling effects on mechanical aptitude - and go home in his fancy car instead, no doubt
expecting hand relief at the very least, if not a full-blown strenuous gay romp worthy of a Frankie Goes to Hollywood video, however legend has it that The Smiths’ unreleased final album, tentatively titled “King Shit of Fuck Mountain” was set to be a real change of pace and send a clear shot over the bow of top echelon heavy bands such as Killing Joke…

You'd think at least one of them could show up.

Is anyone remotely surprised?!
Fantastic band, but utterly, utterly farcical.
I really feel for Sean Pettigrew. The amount of effort & time he's put in with who must have been challenging subjects, only to be let down at the last minute by the guests of honour.
Pretty pathetic really.

The Death and Resurrection Show
"Academy Cinemas and ilc Productions deeply regrets to advise changes to the programme for the New Zealand screening of THE DEATH & RESURRECTION SHOW.

Due to flight booking errors made by the band Killing Joke and their management, the film promoters have just been advised that they will no longer be able to attend the world premiere screening of the music documentary The Death & Resurrection Show.

The film's Director, Shaun Pettigrew, will be in attendance and the world premiere screening will go on, 7.45pm Wednesday 12th.

Tickets for the event have been reduced from $35.00 to $20.00 as a result of these changes.
All ticket purchasers to date will be refunded the difference in the ticket price on the night of the event. Please see the box office staff for assistance.

On behalf of the film's promoters and Academy Cinemas, we sincerely apologise to the bands fans for any disappointment".
