[kj] Siouxsie comeback London gigs

I told y'all about seeing her at a gig in Hyde park only a few years ago. She ambled on like a little old lady and did a faultering Israel. By the end of the set she did a standing up yoga style 180 degree splits. She was putting it on! Great to see the old Siouxsie moves in her dancing too.
Sioux was full of beans and it was a cracking set. She apologized she only had an hour. Yeah, I'd gladly go see. But a few things on my mind.
God, I loved her in 1978...xxx

Indeed. at the time I was saddened to see that it didn't actually get a great deal of publicity.

He's pushing up daisies sadly Michael he died in his sleep, retrained as a nurse and in 1995 was doing some writing music for television.

I'm not much of an SATB fan, but I do love John McGeoch's guitar work where it is. 'Spellbound' is magnificent. Siouxsie and co (and the guy from Radiohed) seem to be one of the few who actually rate McGeoch's work. Most people just criticize him for not being Keith Levene.

Johns guitar work was way under rated. In the siouxsie tribute band I play in, learning sone of his material from tinderbox has been way more difficult than imagined. I wonder what he's up to now.

Whoops -- my bad, that's wrong. It was former Banshee John Carruthers, not Knox. I'm a dolt. ignore me.

Trivial footnote: Knox Chandler played in band with Big Paul Ferguson dubbed Crush. On vox was a guy named Fred Schreck who used to sing for a gothy band called The Ancients. On bass was this dude named, I think, John Miccio, who now lives next door to some friends of ours (fellow parents at my kids' school). Small world.

Should be Geordie really, shouldn't it. They'd go great together (musically, if not personality-wise...)

I've caught Sioux on the past few go `rounds (Mantaray and the Seven Year Itch era), as well as several times back in the 90's. I'm curious that she's pairing up with Budgie again (didn't they acrimoniously divorce?) Wonder what Steve Severin thinks.

Regardless, she's a complete legend (regardless of whether Jaz likes her or not ... let's remember, Jaz likes Sarah Brightman, so he's COMPLETELY capable in lapses of taste).

Curious as to how fleshed out the band will be and ... more importantly... who'll be on guitar.

Heh, good timing - perhaps she heard that Savages album and thought she'd show
the young whippersnappers how it's done.

Siouxsie and ex-Banshees drummer Budgie will be playing 2 rare live shows with a new backing band, with support from Viv Albertine at the Southbank Centre, London on Saturday 15th June 2013 (sold out) and Monday 17th June (tickets selling fast!).

I'm looking forward to this as I never saw her and the Banshees the first time around.

I don't think Jaz liked them, but some of the other KJ members such as Big Paul liked a few of their songs.
