 Joke always did the whole PIL meets Hawkwind but with Sabbath type doom
riffs. it was the disco/ dub rhythm that separated them from the more "rock"
thing. And the lyrics, of course. its a shame i don't like Soundgarden all
that much, they do talk a lot  of sense.

Chris Cornell And Duff McKagan Join Super Group Mad Season

Chris Cornell and Duff McKagan have both signed on to appear as part of the
grunge super group Mad Season during their upcoming reunion. Cornell will
fill in on vocals for the late Alice In Chains singer Layne Staley, and
McKagan will step in for Walkabouts member John Baker, who died of a drug
overdose in 1999.

 

The band's two remaining members, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and
Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin, are both confirmed for the reunion.

 

The rockers will appear alongside the Seattle Symphony as part of the
symphony's "Sonic Evolution" series. The series draws on the city's diverse
musical history.

 

McCready has previously commented that he had reconnected with McKagan and
Martin for some new demos and that they were working towards a follow up to
Mad Season's sole 1995 release.

 

"We are trying to find something to do with those," he told Rolling Stone
last year. "We're talking to Jaz [Coleman] from Killing Joke and I've been
trying to find some singers to work on some of that stuff."
