I know what you mean but in many respects ESS is a great tune to have here. Imagine the surprise those metal heads will have when their preconceptions of what KJ sounds like crashes into this piece of  alt pop!
And by track 11 they'll probably want a break from the rockier stuff anyway. Poor things.
