I tried being a veggie a few years ago but only lasted 6 months. I missed meat too much and got bored with soya etc.

I suppose I'm just talking about the (vast?) majority of meat
consumption, definitely our Westernised version. Certainly this and your
previous post do raise some interesting points, as compared to "in a
Bear Grylls-type survival situation, my diet would win" (a real quote!
though perhaps you don't know who Bear Grylls is... in which case, lucky
you!). ButI feel I'm dealing with the reality of meat-eating, what 99.9%
of meat-eaters in this country are part of, not the general theory.

Fair point though about many veggies/vegans getting their food from
halfway across the world.

If the power grid goes down, we're all doomed. Oh hang on, we're all
doomed anyway ;-)

Having just read through it though, one thing that seems to have been missed is much mention of the horrific cruelty to animals involved in meat consumption. Is it really "just up to individual choice" to cause (directly or indirectly, with variation in the degrees) such cruelty? Can I treat my cute little puppy (sometimes really) badly for a few months then kill it because, well, I enjoy doing that?
>> Anyway, just throwing in some sleep-deprived thoughts... arguing with meat-eaters is pretty much as futile a passtime as there is... worse than waiting on Gems Of Power, even... PLUS, I see my download of a certain band's new album has just finished! To hell wit
