I guess I met him briefly a couple of times.  The time I especially remember was in a pub in London (in fairness, the other time was probably also in a pub in London).  I think we were having a mini-gathering, Antoni was there, also Pete West who'd recently arrived on the gathering in a flurry of wind-ups.  (Antoni actually took me aside when I arrived and put in a good word for Westy as a fellow Chelsea boy 'cos I think he was worried that some people had been taking it all a bit seriously.)  Anyway, the thing that really was noticeable (and others have commented on it too) was how Raven was so completely not up himself about being a rock star.  Given the circumstances, that's really quite impressive.


He was also really funny on the gathering - happy days.


So yeah, fond memories, and I'll raise a coffee cup to him.  Taken too soon - however it seems unlikely he was going to grow old and fade away.

Blimey. My one regret is I never got to meet him in the flesh. Funny guy and genuinely nice guy. I once had to gently request he stop sending me porn at work!


The list was great fun in the raven days.

I still think of him regularly and am thankful to have had the (dubious!) pleasure of knowing him and working with him.

He left quite a mark on the planet. Aside from his artistic efforts, he left some lovely kids, one of which had his 18th Birthday recently.


So raise a glass if you can or spare a thought for our dear friend Paul Raven. Naughty boy!
