That's really interesting.  For some while in the 80's, Butcher was my favourite Killing Joke track.  I thought it was the distillation of Killing Joke.

Actually I’d misremembered. The line Jaz sang to commit to leaving for Iceland was “Appointment with destiny for those who will run”, which makes more sense. The sharp intake of breath you can hear after he sings it shows how big a deal it was for him. “You should know why” is still the unwritten line though.
