"mask debate"
Say that quickly in a Yorkshire accent and you'll understand why I was
giggling like a schoolboy whilst listening to Radio 5 Live on the way home
from work the other day!
Anyway, I don't really want to hear Jaz's views regarding the pandemic 'cos
it'll just make me angry. If he's calling people cowards for wanting a
vaccine then he can just go and fuck himself. I can't stand all this
bullshit conspiracy nonsense around COV-19. I was furloughed for a couple
of months and during that time I did as much research into the pandemic as
I could. I read every research paper I could find and while I won't pretend
to be any kind of an expert (there's enough of them around already!), I've
learnt enough to say quite categorically that it's NOT a hoax. It's got
nothing to do with Bill Gates or 5G or the Illuminati 'pushing the reset
button' on the global economy as I saw someone claim in some forum recently
(I mean, why? Ffs). One of my best mates is an anesthetist, and his wife
works in the hospital morgue. Try telling them it's all a hoax and see what
answer you get! As Alex said, sometimes these things just happen. And
*if* a vaccine does become available (which is by no means a given) then
trust me, I will be first in the line.
With regard to masks. I've been wearing one when shopping since the
lockdown began. And gloves. And I sanitize all my shopping when I get home.
I also bought myself one of those granny basket shopping trolley things so
I don't have to use the supermarket trolleys! Maybe this is all a bit over
the top, I don't care. I'll carry on like this as long as I feel its
necessary. I don't understand why some people have an issue with wearing a
mask (certain medical conditions aside of course). If there's the slightest
chance that it'll reduce the infection rate then get over yourself and just
fucking wear one! If you don't want to, then stay at home and starve.
Personally, I've come out relatively unscathed so far. My Auntie and Uncle
had it, as did my Mum I think, although she only had mild symptoms. I work
for a small forklift company and although we've had to make a couple of
people redundant, I think we'll survive. Unless there's another lockdown of
course, and then all bets are off.....
Anyway stay safe Gatherers. And ignore the shit Jaz comes out with!
