It’s *very* unusual for a person of Jaz’s age to develop Type 1 Diabetes.  It’s often believed to be triggered in adults due to a viral infection or autoimmune reaction that destroys the cells in the pancreas that make insulin.  Have to wonder if Jaz didn’t catch Covid in Mexico which fucked up his autoimmune response leading to this health crisis. Wish him luck controlling the disease going forward – it’s a pain in the ass doing daily (or more) injections of insulin and monitoring the blood sugar.
