I assume you mean embarrassing for *them* (Yahoo)
-- at least, they should be embarrassed! However,
I have a sense that they feel no shame in
deleting groups like they do -- and in that
regard, it was at least reassuring (ironically)
that my/our group wasn't the only one that's been
deleted without warning or explanation. :/

Well, you (all) are most welcome! :)

By the way, there are a couple of differences now
with this "new" list. For one thing, it was
suggested that the list archives should be
publically accessible -- over on Yahoo, the
archives were for "list members only", but I
think our discussions were really good, helpful
and informative, and so this time I've made them "public."

I hope that doesn't deter anyone from posting, of
course! If anyone can think of a legitimate
reason to not do it this way, please say so.

Also, previously attachments to the list were not
allowed, although for the time being I've set
this list to allow them -- certain kinds of
attachments, anyway. Anything that's susceptible
to being a virus (software/programs, etc.) won't
go through, but images (JPEGs, etc.) should. I
haven't tried it yet, but I think images are put
somewhere in the archives, with a link included
in the list message referring to it, rather than
embedding the attachment right into the message
itself -- that should make it better for anyone on dialup, of course.

I did also set a 100k limit on the size of posts
-- I have no idea (yet) if that includes
attachments or just the actual text message
itself, but I guess we'll find that out, too, in time!

If anyone has any other suggestions/requests for
what we might do differently for this list, don't be shy!

>and hope everyone's joining here again soon!

Well, the "usual bunch" is here already -- but
we're far from the approx. 100 members we had
before. I guess maybe some people just decided
not to come back, or perhaps my (re-)invitation
to join the list wasn't quite clear. I don't know
-- but I'm sure that anyone who really wants to
be here will figure out what happened, and where to find us again.

Which reminds me... I better get the list page on
my site updated with the new/correct info!
