From ron at psymon.com Sat Nov 3 11:34:32 2007 From: ron at psymon.com (Ron Koster) Date: Sat, 03 Nov 2007 11:34:32 -0400 Subject: [LEN-E] Leni in the news Message-ID: <20071103153452.3576C2BCAF@mailwash40.pair.com> Hi folks! Well, this has been long, long overdue, I've been quite negligent over these last months in updating my "LeNiews" page/section, but this morning I buckled down and made an effort to do so. You can catch up on the latest articles at the usual URL, of course... http://www.riefenstahl.org/resources/news/ ...(for reference, the last time I updated was on June 21st -- oops!). Perhaps I should say that there haven't been any great new revelations or anything, though -- although there's a few interesting tidbits here and there. Searching for news-related items that contain "riefenstahl" in them can be very frustrating, in fact, because the vast majority of articles in which Leni's name appears are from writers who are using it to dismiss (by comparison) Michael Moore's various documentaries, or Al Gore's film on global warming, or -- more often than anything else -- endless regurgitations of Mia Farrow's comment on Steven Spielberg's forthcoming film of the Beijing Olympics. Anyway, I'm caught up again now! As I said, I've been rather lazy in doing so for these past months, but I'll *try* to make an effort to update it at least once a month or so (I'll try to make a point of doing so around the beginning of each month, for the previous month's news -- please do remind me if I forget!). Ron ;) Woof?... http://www.Psymon.com Ach, du Leni!... http://www.Riefenstahl.org Hmm... http://www.Imaginary-Friend.ca From luc.deneulin at skynet.be Mon Nov 5 14:36:29 2007 From: luc.deneulin at skynet.be (Luc Deneulin) Date: Mon, 5 Nov 2007 20:36:29 +0100 Subject: [LEN-E] German Film about LR Message-ID: UFA will produce a two-part TV movie on the life of Leni Riefenstahl, the late filmmaker whose career was tainted by her association to Adolf Hitler and who was branded a Third Reich propagandist for her patriotic Nazi-era documentaries. Project, based on a screenplay by Katrin Buehlig, will start filming next year as an international co-production with German and British partners. Company is in negotiations with pubcaster ZDF to come aboard the biopic. Casting is yet to begin.
