[LEN-E] Leni's (home?) Studio/Workspace

Hi All,

Firstly please allow me to say that it feels so good to have found this
list again. I was a long time member on the Yahoo Group and I had been
wondering why things got so quiet! I found Ron's explanation and
couldn't believe that Yahoo had deleted the group. What a story!
Thanks, Ron, for gathering us back together via this private list!

I've been watching the Sandra Maischberger "Immoderation" interview (as
included on Kino's PITZ PALU DVD), and I have a question. My question
is admittedly somewhat trivial in the total scheme of all things Leni,
but I cannot help wondering:

Was the studio space (editing rooms, etc.) through which Leni tours the
viewer (in "Immoderation") located in/at her home?

I ask this because, in looking at it again, it seems like a great deal
of studio space for a home that appears as small as the house does in
the exterior shots at the first of the interview. Of course I realize
that wide angle lenses make interior spaces appear larger, but, even so,
it appears that there were two nice sized editing suites (one for
beta/slides, the other for Avid), plus in the background of one shot a
Steenbeck can be viewed in what is apparently another room or area.
There is also a hallway/corridor, and at least one room off from that
which we do not see. Plus the room in which they first enter, which
has the large Nuba print (where they discuss men), and yet another which
can be glimpsed in the reverse angle through the Beta suite door.

The first shot of the workspace tour shows Leni walking down stairs, so
I had always assumed that this space was probably in a basement below
the home; however, in this viewing I noticed that several of the rooms
clearly have windows with trees outside (one above the Steenbeck; one
above the machine on which she did the photo prints)--- so, above ground
windows don't suggest a basement space after all.

Thus --curiosity having gotten the better of me-- I'm wondering if
anyone knows: were these shots taken somewhere else ... or was this
working space indeed at her home and the house just a lot bigger than
the exterior shots seem to suggest? If so, she must have had a fairly
large house!

Anyone know?

Thanks!

-John
