Subject: X-LTPC'er mail list

Hello X-LTPC'ers,

I've been away for Memorial Day, and so I've been out of the loop. This list of former LTPC agents & regional managers is currently at 248 members. Again, if you do NOT wish to be on this list, please respond to this e-mail and let me know, and I'll remove you immediately.

Many of you also subscribe to Doug Burg's mailing list that is available through his LTPCALUMS.com web site. There's some good information there, and it's probably worth your time. Many of the messages that I'll be forwarding you have come from that source, so you may get two of the same message. Once again, if this bothers you, then let me know and I'll take you off this list. However, not everyone on this list is on Doug's list, and I want to make sure that everyone gets these messages.

As you can see from the various messages that I'll be forwarding, there's quite a bit of concern over the same issues. Hopefully by pooling our efforts we can get some resolution on these issues. I know that two of the hot topics right now are 1) whether or not we'll get paid from 6/20 to 9/20. I've heard no, then yes, then no, then yes.........so I'm not sure where that stands right now and 2) Taking us out of the loop on client correspondence, which I know is being debated quite heavily right now, with no apparent satisfactory solution yet.

I've heard of quite a few opportunities in the LTC industry, and would still recommend that if you haven't found a home yet, that you call your X-regional manager for some suggestions. Also, if you would like information about any other opportunity that you may have heard of, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the X-LTPC'er that is going to work there, because I can almost guarantee you that if it's a good opportunity, that someone on this e-mail list has looked into it. If you haven't found a home yet, and you are planning to stay in the long-term-care insurance business, you better get on the ball and get something done. Even though you can't write an application with another agency/brokerage until after 6/20, you should be in the process of getting all the necessary paperwork done, obtaining E&O coverage, etc.

Those of you who were let go last Saturday, I hope you're on your way to success with a new opportunity by now. I still can't believe that Cendant/Progeny won't release you from your current writing numbers until 6/20. They fired you, and then they won't let you go back to work for any of the carriers that you were appointed with??? If I were you I'd put a call in to the Federal Trade Commission @ 202-326-3761. When I mentioned this topic to them, they were VERY interested. I think that Cendant/Progeny has crossed the line on this one.

Once again, because this is NOT a mail server like Doug Burg's web site, in order for you to get a message to the entire X-LTPC'er list, you'll have to send your message to me, indicating that it is for the entire group, and I'll forward it off to the group. This will do three things- 1) No legal recourse for Cedent/Progeny for anything that I send you all in a personal e-mail. It's private, and can't be used in court like a public access mail server can. 2) The messages go to EVERYONE on the list with no discrimination, so offers of employment that might come from one RSM will be sent out to everyone on the list, questions that you have will be sent to EVERYONE on the list, comments that you send about the issues at hand will go out to EVERYONE on the list, etc., and 3) I can monitor the messages to see if I can't make sure that you don't get the same basic information from 20 people.

I hope this is up to all of your satisfaction & high standards, AGAIN - if not, just let me know that you want to be removed from the list & I'll see to it.

If you have any questions, you can mail me or call me, either one.

Good Luck X-LTPC'ers!

Sincerely,

Jon Christopher
