Normally I would not promote an agency but this might be of some use. It is
getting harder and harder to place any LTCI if the person has diabetes. I had
licensed with a company for LTC but was more interested in their home care
plan.

Have a client that has diabetes, takes 50 units a day of insulin plus
retinopathy. Gave their underwriting a complete history and they said to write them.
She is 49 and works full time. No carrier would write her. Found out that
Colonial American will take up to 75 units of insulin a day, and even higher
depending on other conditions. Even rated at her age she can afford a
comprehensive plan.

Right now their underwriting takes insulin over 50 units a day. They have a
comprehensive LTC plan, a home health care plan, and a short term care plan.
Their rates down here in Florida were very competitive.

For those that want to look into this you can click on the link below for
their home page. The person in charge of brokerage is Jim Cressman at
1-800-872-3044. You can mention my name or not. does not matter. Just thought I would
pass this on since I am writing an application on someone that I did not
expect too.
