the Qt4 tool has a test directory with an example that should cover your 
needs. It can be found in "test/basic/variantdir".

Please, try to apply the basic setup demonstrated there to your project. 
If you run into further problems and need help, let us know. If 
possible, attach a simple SConstruct (triggering the problem) to your mail .
