During the 2001 war, Afghan women's clothing was central issue in much of the media. Women's education and healthcare were an afterthought. Many Westerners were duped into supporting the war because they were so freaked by the burkahs. Jaz's lyrics are about this. 
 
What is it about western workers in the Gulf? What did the Saudis do to you, you all seem to come back totally jaded despite being handsomely paid.
