Folks should realise the he's either very schemeing himself or totally 
naive, I suspect the former. When he arrived at the Bridge from Pompey as 
"director of football", it was allegedly to help get the best out of 
Shevchenko, as he could speak Russian but it looked like another attempt to 
undermine Jose's authority. It's been a harsh lesson for Roman Abramovich to 
get really close in 3 competitions and win nothing - and with the FA Cup, we 
would only have had to beat Cardiff and Pompey to win that too if we hadn't 
capitulated to the mighty Barnsley. Avram has earned £8M from his 8 month 
stint (including a £5M payoff) ... rumours now suggest he was offered a 
doubling of salary (£4M per year) to return to his "director of football" 
duties. The club could do with a review of it's PR though.

It's bad enough that we have to suffer ridicule all summer long from rival 
football fans (if brave enough to wear shirts, t-shirts etc) but the way the 
club operates sometimes shames the supporters ... I don't give a toss about 
the "got  no class" jibes from the likes of the scousers ... I've been 
through the streets around Anfield and seen the houses with tacky ornaments 
on the front room window sills ... yeah, really classy ... the endless JT 
pisstakes will not relent, but any remarks about Avram Grant from Man United 
or Arsenal fans are rooted more in their own frustration that we had 
dispensed with a manager who was not really good enough.

Ah, the moment, I remember it now ... if we could just turn back the clock 
...

That's pretty much how I feel.  He's done way better than I (or anyone, 
probably) expected, and all credit to him.  Though he did largely achieve it 
with Jose's squad.

Let's hope it's not Sven (who really should be staying at Man City).

Even though AG's achievements this season easily surpassed my own 
expectations, I will not be marching down to Stamford Bridge to hold a 
"Avram  Grant must stay" banner... ironically losing the UCL final has made 
it easier for the club's hierarchy to put right a wrong ... Rijkaard maybe ?

his demeanor since Jose left has been all about the next move, yes he's been 
good for the club but my money's on a lot of changes there this summer...the 
ill discipline at Chelsea winds me up (and I'm a supporter, promise), that 
is down to Avram so does that mean he's the right one for the job long term, 
I doubt it, so there's another who needs to go for the club's sake.

Yeah, he certainly fucked up on wednesday - getting sent off was bad, but 
aside from that he'd not been his usual potent self for the previous 117 
mins or whatever.  Overall I've rated him highly - after years and years of 
supposedly great strikers underperforming once they get to Stamford Bridge, 
he's been the first who's really come into his own.  I also loved seeing him 
play for the Ivory Coast - absolutely stunning performance, carried the 
whole team.  So, assuming he goes, I'll really miss him.

Yeah, we lost.

All the neutrals I've spoken to reckon Chelsea were the better team on the 
night - not by much, it was tight, but I've yet to hear a neutral say that 
United were better. And in the first five penalties, Cech actually saved 
one, whereas Van der Sar (who went completely the wrong way) was rescued by 
Terry slipping.  Essentially, United won because Terry slipped.  So be it, 
it's a tough way to lose, but we'll be back stronger than ever next season.
