I am jealous. The documentary sounds really cool. I had the same single
signed by the band too. But someone walked off with it years later.

Wasn't there going to be a box set too?

+++++++++++
Yeah. Like a lot of projects Brian James arbitrarily comes up and soon
loses interest in, there was going to be a multi cd/dvd box set for '08
comprised of several live shows along with the '88 documentary spanning the
band's career which was to follow close on the heels of the "Rockers" cd
release. This was to tie in with a proposed "Brian James Gang" '08 tour
which would have featured my friend Adam Becvare from The Black Halos
fronting the band which would have included Dave Tregunna on bass.

Several issues apparently derailed the project before it really got off the
ground including the hard fact that Brian doesn't have any recordings or
access to any pro-recorded shows aside from the already released "Live at
the Spit," "Scene of the Crime" and "Second Coming" along with the
semi-official "My Father's Place" recording all of which have been released
several times in repackaged compilations (see the two "Lords Prayer"
releases). Brian actually had to wind up using a semi-decent 1982 tour
bootleg recording as the 2nd disc on the "Rockers" release. I don't even
think Brian has the rights to re-release the "Live at the Marquee" show from
late '83 that's been in and out of print on vhs and (a very rare) dvd for
decades.

It should be noted, a couple years ago Brian *did* record and self-release a
solo album and the cd single included a cover of The Damned's "New Rose" and
The Lords' "Method To Our Madness" with Dave Tregunna singing that was
pretty decent although I doubt it sold more than a few hundred discs.
Here's a video for the title track:

At this point, there's been talk that Adam may write, record and tour with
Brian in the near future, but who knows? From all accounts, it's tough
motivating Brian to do much of anything and interest in his stuff, old or
new is pretty minimal.
