Yeah, i like Johnny Cash,but i really don't get the "Worship" factor either.Just looks like a bus that everybody thought was hip to climb aboard which is really more of an insult to him and his music more than anything.Guess that's what happens when you're dead.People that never gave a shit before will eventually turn around and love you.Fogerty though...man,i've always loved him and alot of the stuff that he did with Creedence Clearwater Revival.I'll tell you somebody that i don't get at all though and that is John Lennon.It seems like everybody sees him as this genius/guru/world healing prophet and i've always just seen him as a selfish,dirty,hateful ass hippie pretending to be all wise and kind.I can appreciate the sentiments of one or two of his songs,but damn....i'd take Mccartney over him any day.

Fogarty is cool Steve Earle is good and has decent politics, but I have to make yet another ultra-embarrasing confession (even more emabarrasing than the "I don't get Tom 'criticts worship me' Waits")--I never could figure out the worship of Cash. He always sounded like a guy talking to me. My wife likes "Folsom Prison Blues" though...

What about Merle Haggard,Waylon Jennings, or Dwight Yoakam?I don't care so much for George Jones,but i'm down for the three above.I should have included Hank Williams Jr. on my worst singers list though.I hate him more than life itself.

No, you're thinking of Tammy Wynette (sort of the grandma of female country voices). I did have a chance to see Loretta Lynn recetnly and didn't --although I hear she' s pretty over the hill, but a few years ago did an album w/the White Stripes or something. Also, Emmylou Harris does quite a bit of stuff w/rockers (Elvis Costello, Jason, Steve Earle)...
